Clash Of The Titans Movie Review

After a couple of hours digesting Clash Of The Titans, I will give it an A-(minus) for the correct information and background they gave about the leading characters but a minus for changing one detail of the most important part of the lead character, Pegasus.

Honestly, I needed to back track and have a review about my Greek mythology as the Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief kinda blur me about who was Perseus and what was he famous for.  Just a little trivia, my nephew’s name is Perseus Alexander from two of the most prominent figures in Greek mythology.

For Greek mythology fans, we all know what Perseus was famous for, decapitating the head of (Gorgon) Medusa.  He is the son of Zeus from queen Danae, he rescued Andromeda from the sea monster (probably where they pick-up the Kraken character from). You have heard of the Kraken from the Clash of the Titan movie teasers, right?

I don’t think Sam Worthington’s acting as Perseus was outstanding, watching the movie and his little inspiration speech scene kinda gave me a flashback of Avatar. But I love Gemma Artenton as Io in the movie.  Ralph Fiennes as Hades did a great job in the movie too.

The effects was outstanding, the production, costume, make-up and sound effects was great.  You will appreciate the movie in 3D or regular cinema as well as the 3D effects were not as spectacular like in Avatar.

Just one thing though, I think they shouldn’t name the movie Clash of the Titans as there were no other Titans in the movie except Perseus, wait Perseus is not among the Titans hmmm.  It would have been better if they entitled the movie The Rise of Perseus or something like that.

What was the difference and similarities of this 2010 Clash of the Titans to the 1981 Clash of the Titans?
  1. The effects this year are more flawless.
  2. The way Zeus gifts to Perseus were presented.
  3. Characters in the 1981 has more female stars, the 2010 has more male supporting stars.
  4. I liked the Kraken and Andromeda scene better in the 1981 version than the 2010 version.
  5. The 1981 version shows Perseus presenting himself to be the husband of Andromeda, the 2010 version has a different twist.
