My dear Sony Erickson K8001 needs to retire, he is badly torn and bruised and I can’t find shops near me that sells parts, particularly the cover and keypads. So I got myself a new phone a Nokia E71 last Friday and so far so good I’m so happy with it.
I’ve never had a Nokia phone ever, I hated how their phones break easily, compared to a Sony Erickson that’s super tough. So I am being careful with this new baby I have my E71 I will call Earthlingorgeous Gadget or EG harharhar!
I bought it for Phph18,390.00 via credit card promo of 0% interest and 12 months to pay. Not a bad deal eh? I guess you are wondering what’s the catch in these kind of credit card promos, I wrote something on my FabRecessionista blog. I hope it clears you up.
So far, I am loving my E71, EG is a cool gadget it has so many awesome features aside from its Wi-Fi capabilities which was my main reason from buying this phone. Its a QWERTY type phone, with 3.2 megapixels cam, it has a text and card scanner (great feature! it reads documents but kinda garbled when it doesn’t understand the texts), the camera has nice feature that auto edits the photo making it clearer and crisp (I’ll show samples later), I love the Office applications in it it has Document, Excel and Powerpoint presentation tools! It also has satellite GPRS navigation where one could take tabs of landmarks and get directions (but you need an internet connection for that). It also has Windows Live (but there was a warning that it may have a monthly charge in the near future but users will be notified 30 before implementation). The sound quality is great and the games are fun! I am playing a racing game right now.
I’m still getting myself acquainted with texting in QWERTY and I didn’t like how close the menu bars is with the center keys that I used for playing the race game because I accidentally press them and pause my race haha!
I will post an indepth review about the Nokia E71 soon after I’ve fully utilized the super loads of feature this awesome phone have. I was able to see some Blackberry options but I haven’t tinkered on it yet.

Oh its 1:20 already, nalibang ako sa pagbabasa dito and pagcocomment got to go now, bye Ms.Earth have a good day!
Wow a brand new phone!!!! How I wish I could afford one right now hehe ….. I recently bought a blackberry from Quiapo… alam mo na yung China made… the appearance itself is blackberry 8900 pati menu options, it even has wifi. But of course the other features that Blackberry has wala na siya.
The QWERTY keyboard needs a little getting used to, you really have to use both hands unlike our usual phones. Pero good thing about this China made copy phone, it is dual SIM so avoiding to carry another phone at that, and it has local TV haha and the signal is quite clear din naman… well I hope you enjoy your new phone.. pero if I had the budget I’d still buy a smart phone like yours or maybe a windows mobile powered phone.
By the way, the China phone I bought costs less than 5K, kaya hindi na me masyado nag isip hehe lol….
