‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ Movie Review

I’m sorry to say but  ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street‘ did not scare me at all. It amused me though with the help of the movie goers who were screeching, screaming and laughing.    A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 was not as spooky as the original ‘Nightmare on Elm Street 1984.  Freddy Krueger in this movie doesn’t look as scary as the original.  The storyline was different.  It was so predictable.

This Freddy was not the Freddy I knew. The original Freddy was a real psycho killer slasher who will give you nightmares after watching him, this new Freddy, I want to kill him and give him the nightmare of his life.  I wasn’t scared at all!  Seriously!  In this movie he is no more than a disfigured character in a nightmare stalking and killing a group of teenagers he used to have a past with.

This was the original Freddy Krueger 1984 movie

This is the 2010 Freddy Krueger

I’ll give credit to the fact that the new script did a flashback about who was this new Freddy, this way this generation can get acquainted with the new Freddy.  But for those who knew Freddy in my generation late 80’s and early 90’s this Freddy was a disappointment, big disappointment.

Anyway a few things stays the same, the plot which is don’t fall asleep or you will never wake up again because Freddy will kill you.  Freddy’s costume and the standard horror film scenes like hiding in the closet and kissing before dying kinda scenes.
