My Hereafter Movie Review

Hereafter is a heavy drama movie that will break your heart to bits.

It was centered on three characters, an American clairvoyant George McLarren (Matt Damon) a French Journalist who had a near-death experience Marie Lelay (Cecille de France) and a boy (Marcus) who had a twin (Jason) who recently passed away (Franky McLarren).

The Tsunami scene floored me. It looks so real it captivated the terrible and horrifying feel of the disaster. The scene gave me goosebumps. It was very well executed. Its so heart breaking.

The only thing I hated in the movie was the subtitles. It would have been much better if they removed the subtitles and let everyone speak English instead of having the moviegoers read through the subtitles since the rest of the movie was in English anyway.

The movie was going on a slow phase in some parts and was kinda boring but I guess those were essential parts of the movie to build the plot and backgrounder for each of the characters as they unfold. Maybe its because Clint Eastwood directed the film.

I’m not so mad about the last scene too, most people were left confused about it. Although I understood what they mean there I had to explain to the others what its all about and why it happened that way.

If you like heavy drama you can go ahead and watch the movie. Its PG 13. Don’t bring the kids it will bore them to pieces.

Hereafter will be showing in Philippine cinemas starting January 19, 2011.

Btw, do you believe that there is a hereafter?

Stay gorgeous everyone.
