My ‘Tangled’ Movie Review

After Shrek, I believe Tangled is one of the animated movie adaptation of a Fairy Tale that was given a new twist, it was made relevant, fresh and different, something that the viewers of this generation would truly enjoy.

Tangled is an animation movie by Walt Disney based on the story of Rapunsel (voice by Mandy Moore) and the bandit Flyn Rider (voice by Zachary Levi). The elements from the original Rapunsel tale was still there like the tower, the incredible long hair, the “prince charming” who “rescued” her and the  “wicked witch” who kept her captive for years.   But like I said the story was given a different twist and made Rapunsel’s story more convincing.

I also enjoyed the two other characters that were added in the story, the chameleon Maximus and the super-cop horse Maximus.

We watched the film in 3D and it made the usual Disney animation come to life!  I specially love how the hair becomes so alive in the movie that I can almost touch and feel every strand of Rapunsels long lustrous blonde locks!

It was a fun movie that gave me a lot of laughs and I apologize to the other audience who were disturbed a bit by my daughter’s singing and blabbing.  It was an indication that she was enjoying the movie, especially the chase scenes and the singing (which made her blab and sing!)

I’d recommend everyone to watch the movies, even the oldies.   Its definitely a great family movie to watch.

Incidentally, Tangled will have whole-day sneak previews in Philippine cinemas on Monday & Tuesday, January 24 & 25 , 2011 at regular admission prices; and eventually have its grand opening on February 2, 2011 . The movie will be available both in Digital 3D and regular format.

Btw, what is your favorite fairy tale?

Stay gorgeous everyone!

(P.S. Thanks to Walt Disney Pictures Philippines for the invite at the sneak preview)
