Typhoon Pedring Announcements

UPDATE: As of 12MN Sept.28,2011 No classes on Pre-school, elementary and highschool students from affected areas in NCR and Metro Manila such as Malabon, Valenzuela, Marikina, some areas in Quezon City (Bagong Silangan Brgy), Rizal, Antipolo . UP, UST, TIP, Adamson University, Ateneo de Manila university have declared classes suspension for half of the day, students are advised to stay tuned for further announcements. Government offices will resume work tomorrow. The U.S. Embassy will resume operation on Thursday, September 29,2011. MRT and LRT lines will resume operations as soon as they got advisory that power supply will normalize.

Personally though, as a parent, I decide when or when not to send my daughter to school. If the weather like this persist, strong winds and non-stop rains, I will not send her to school anymore. No government entity or even the President of the world can tell me whats best for my daughter.

Rescue operations are being held in affected areas such as Malabon, Valenzuela and Marikina.

UPDATE: As of 4pm today residents near Marikina river are being evacuated. Guest at hotel Sofitel near Manila Bay are also evacuated. Coconut high waves also occurred in the Manila Bay area as some breakwater were already damaged. Dikes in Bulacan and Valenzuela were also breached.

Classes suspension will be announced at 5pm today.

MRT and LRT operations remains suspended.

As of 11am 2nd warning on Marikina River given, residents near are advised to evacuate now!

As of 10:30am today, September 27,2011 the MRT operations will be suspended by 12 noon because of power fluctuations.

As of 8am all work in government offices except for those needed during emergency situations is also suspended. In Metro Manila and NCR.

As of 10:30am has. Been made that the La Mesa Dam will release water because of overflowing.

As of 8am the color coding scheme is suspended. Local flights from Manila are cancelled.

Everyone is advised to stay home and stay dry, stock up on food and water and emergency lights.

  1. yup Loudes, even if it’s little rain nga lng sobrang baha na sa malabon eh..kaya nga nauso ang umihi lang ang daga,baha na! same with my college friend who’s from Malabon din.. kalunus-lunos ang kalagayan nila.. 🙁
