If you are not aware yet, the government’s educational system revamp in the Philippines is effective starting this school year. This means children will undergo 12 years of basic education , four years of junior highschool and two years of senior highschool before they can decide if they wanna go on a full college degree course or take a technical vocational course (more of the K12 Educational System here).
With that said, the Technical Vocational Schools Association of the Philippines (TEVSAPHIL) Quezon City Chapter (TEVSAPHIL-QC) launches its advocacy campaign to uplift the image and standards of technical vocational courses and graduates in the country. TEVSAPHIL-QC is the association of TVET schools in Quezon City whose vision is to unify the sector to be an effective partner in the government’s programs and in various private initiatives.

To jumpstart the advocacy, TEVSAPHIL-QC launched a photo contest entitled, “The Art and Beauty of Technical Vocational Professions” . Amateur and professional photo enthusiasts, hobbyists and students are expected to join in this Quezon City-wide contest. Entries should depict the theme under TESDA-registered courses such as Health and Wellness, Beauty Care, Fashion Technology, Hard Trade, Martime, Tourism and Hospitality, Allied Health Courses, and Information Technology.

They really need to do advocacies like this to uplift the image of technical vocational courses. This way, many will still be encouraged to take these courses, especially those who will not be able to afford the cost of a college education.
This is a nice contest, too bad it is only open in Q.C. residents.
