I’ve been meaning to learn pole dancing since I’ve seen some friends on my Facebook timeline do it. My first time to pole dance was a blast and I decided to take it seriously! I think pole dance is empowering and it is something a mommy like me can do to keep or bring back her confidence about herself and her body. Admit it moms, after becoming a mom, with all the mommy duties we need to fulfill there is really not much room for us to feel and be sexy and this applies to single moms or married moms.
Here are my new found mommy blogger friends, they are my classmate for this pole dance session hosted by Polecats Manila
So what do you need to know/do before attending Pole Class:
- Leave and flush out all your worries and insecurities in the toilet sink. Every woman thin or chubby is beautiful and sexy
- Bring and wear to class a super short shorts (preferably no buttons and zippers as it will rub in your body and pole at it could hurt you) . Ideally you should wear running spandex shorts and sports bra, comfy and tight! The less clothes the better you can learn to pole!
What you need to do in class (according to our instructor CD)
- Always tip-toe/ heels up when standing as it elongates the body. It is also the secret to be able to lift and turn on the pole easily.
- Wear makeup in-class so you feel sexier while dancing.
- Let your hair down! No buns or ponytail. The messier the hair the better!
What I liked about the Mommies and More Pole Dance Class?
- I love that the class was all mommies as we were able to feel less insecure with our bodies compared to taking the class with all the sexy single non-mommy ladies! Pregnancy changes the body in ways we did not think possible haha!
- All the stretching before and after the pole feels really good to the body. It stretched out all the muscles in my body that I haven’t moved in awhile.
- While my body ached a lot the day after the class I feel so relaxed and invigorated. I wanted to pole again even if my body aches. No wonder some friends I know who pole dance can’t take their hands off the pole. It is super fun and empowering!
Just to show you how “easy” fun and empowering pole dancing is. Here is a video of my first pole dancing class with some mommy bloggers. This is a raw, unedited video and please excuse my big belly! I love to eat too you know!
