Being an adult is finally taking its toll. I used to believe in Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, and the religion I was born to. But as time goes by and I am exposed to the “wonderful world” of being an adult, everything I used to believe were all lies or well there is always three sides of a story.
Maleficent is such a dark movie and no matter how cute those creatures were and how hard the movie tried to be family friendly / General patronage, the movie plot in itself is dark and sad and well another lie or another “truth” as told by someone else. The betrayal is most sad of all and it breaks my heart when I saw it. It just hurt so much. We also come to a realization that there is always three sides of a story (the truth, what we are made believed to be the truth, and according to speculators)
I won’t tell if the movie ended well or not because it all depends on your perception what a happy ending supposedly is. But I definitely enjoyed all the visual drama during the fight scenes amazing (might get nominated for animation, graphic effects and makeup and costumes). Makeup was fabulous, I specially can’t ignore Angelina Jolie’s contour!
Just like I mentioned in my Facebook status as soon as we left the cinema, Maleficent is a magnificent movie and yes there is true love, but not the kind we all thought it was. Or what we were taught in grade school.

If you were told fairy tales especially of Disney ones , particularly of Sleeping Beauty, then you can relate to the movie and will get your questions answered. I like how they were able to tie the story to the old plot we used to know. This movie just reminded me of Shrek and how it twisted the fairy tale stories.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I suggest you don’t read the movie info as it already tells the entire story. I suggest you just go and watch without having knowing too much so you can better enjoy the movie or else just be there and enjoy the marvelous visual feast.
Thanks Nuffnang Philippines and Globe #GlobeGoUnli20 for having me at the special screening at EDSA Shangri-la Cineplex.
P.S. Watch out for Sam Riley he is a rising star now he worked side by side with Angelina Jolie. Sam Riley played the raven/ Diaval/ Diablo in the movie. I like him haha!

Yeah I remember the Grimms version… watch it soon Davie! 🙂
it was actually disney who twisted the fairy stories to make them family friendly for commercial sale…if you read the original grimms fairy tales and hans christian anderson tales they are dark horror tales with a basis of truth on the myths and stories handed down from generation to generation….having said that im looking forward to watching maleficent
I know right? I love her too! Some “villains” more often than not are misunderstood and their ways are often “out-of-the-box” noh …
Malficent has always been my favorite Disney villain. Always and forever will be. Lalo ko ata syang minahal sa movie na ito, haha!
