My ‘The Canyons’ Movie Review

When I went to the cinema tonight to watch The Canyons advanced screening at SM Mall of Asia, I have no idea what the movie was all about. All I know is that it stars Lindsay Lohan and James Deen and that it won the Best Screenplay at the Melbourne Movie Festival, so I thought it must be good to win an award.

Well, I was shocked by the movie, a lot! There were a lot of breast exposures and hmmm very adult sex scenes that I did not expect. I guess because the Lindsay Lohan I was expecting to see was totally different from what I just saw. I have never seen her like this ever, but I do know she has lived a scandalous and messed up life since maybe after Mean Girls and she did drugs and was in and out of the rehab.

Lindsay Lohan was the Co-Producer of yhe movie but I think she was still under the influence when she seen preview of this or the final edit was given to her. It was amateurly made kinda like a B movie, low-budget film. Although I can’t help but notice the beautiful mountainside house they used and the nice cars and brand exposures like Nokia and Facebook!

It is Rated R16 but MTRCB but I think it shoukd be R18.

It is not a movie you watch with the family or a movie you wanna see on a first date as well.

I will give the movie a 2 out of 5 for screwing with my mind because if the controversial ending, the nice house, Nokia and trying to be up with the times with the presence of Facebook, hacking, camcording, dating apps, and that text TV.
