Creating your own t-shirt design is easier than ever with today’s technology. All you have to do is follow these simple steps and you will have a t-shirt that is unique. You can even sell your own creations if you want. Follow these ten steps for success.
Step One
Produce your design using vector format.
Step Two
Create layers for your image. Each layer will be for a specific color. If you are a beginner, start with one color.
Step Three
Print your design on transparency film.
Step Four
Layer the film with light sensitive emulsion.
Step Five
Tape each transparency to the screen so they line up.
Step Six
Apply UV light to the image for approximately 15 minutes.
Step Seven
Rinse and dry the screen, leaving only the image in place.
Step Eight
Place the screen on the press. Make sure that it is properly aligned.
Step Nine
Load the ink and print the image on your t-shirt. It is important to apply good pressure during this process so that the image comes out evenly.
Step Ten
Each layer of ink needs to be cured with heat. You can use a heat gun or a flash dryer.
