When I posted my stash of Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser on Instagram, some of the private messages I got was “Safeguard for the Face? Really?”
Yes, there is now a Safeguard line for the face and that is the Derma Sense Facial cleansers. I guess most of the “doubting Tomases” worry that Safeguard is such a too strong soap product to use for the face because it is known as an anti-bacterial / germicide soap.

What I think of it?
- Honestly, I was one of those who were kind of apprehensive to use the Derma Sense. So the first few days they were with me, I just stared and stared at it, thinking of how will I review the product if I have not tried it. Fortunately, one of my beauty blogger friends Julia Arenas said she tried the Derma Sense for Sensitive skin and it immediately reminded her of an old PH Balance facial cleanser brand (now discontinued) that is not harsh and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.
- So I tried it out and was not disappointed. It was not as harsh as I thought it would be. As Julia said the effect is good because it maintains the skins PH balance.
- I like that the one for Sensitive Skin does not have a scent, which is really nice as sometimes it is the scent that irritates the skin.
- The one for acne prone skin has a mild scent but not that overpowering.
Do I recommend it?
This would be highly recommended for those teenagers or those who suffer from acne as acne breakout is caused by germs and dirt . This will help tame the breakout. As for those who already have clear skin it is also okay to use.
