Some of the Ways I’m #JustLikeMyMother + A Giveaway

Almost two months ago, my mom had a stroke. While she did not have any part of her body paralyzed her speech and communication skills was badly affected. She also lost her gusto to get dressed and dolled up. She now just lay down and eat and sleep.

This was very different from the mom I grew up with. She is very talkative, sometimes very tactless and frank. She also loves to get dressed and dolled up. You won’t see her go to the sari-sari store 10 meters away from home not dressed. She likes red lipstick and colorful matchy-matchy outfit. Now you know where I got my fashion and beauty influence from and these are just some of the ways I’m just like my mother.

When was the last time you gave your mom a bouquet of flowers for no reason at all? Do you utter the words “I love you” as means of thanking your mother for the pettiest favor? Or an “I miss you” because the last time you saw her was over Skype or FaceTime? How about spending a day with mom over her favorite cuisine without a real agenda?

You can make it up with her this Mother’s Day. As every child is the embodiment of a mother’s love, let us give back the love to our moms by showing the world how we are #JustLikeMyMother.
