When I became a blogger 11 years ago, I have embraced a lifestyle that only a few would dream about for themselves.
Can you imagine the freedom of not being tied to a boss or a company who tells you what to do and how it is done. Imagine not being succumb to going to work 8 to 5 and be one of those who need to beat the rush hour or be in the rush hour every day. Imagine the freedom to work wherever you are, in bed or at the beach or in another country.
It sounds fancy but it is doable. I am living this lifestyle.
But this lifestyle didn’t come easy. I had to learn a lot of tricks of the trade. As a blogger I am a one man show. I am the writer, editor, publisher, marketing manager, accounting manager, liason officer, PR manager, social media manager, photographer , layout artist, videographer, graphic designer, web master, financier and everything else to keep the blog running.
This is where the Freedom Summit comes in handy. They give you some guidelines on how to successfully embrace the digital nomad life and enjoy the freedom to do more of what you want in life.
I was invited to be a media panelist to the Philippines Leg of Freedom Summit in the Phillippines where I along with other panelist from other digital media platforms was there to share our experience and answer questions from the summit attendees.
At the moment Freedom Summit is travelling around Asia now to preach the freedom in embracing the digital nomad lifestyle.
Freedom Summit believes that Freedom is what mastery in the digital space is about – and it is accelerating from being a trend to becoming a lifestyle.
It’s been called a variety of names: digital nomadism, online entrepreneurship, digital marketing, etc. But basically it brings freedom to one’s lifestyle – it literally means doing the work that you enjoy, promoting yourself and your skills as your own brand, determining your own income level and work hours—and travelling to as many countries as you like. All through the power of technology especially the internet.
Freedom Summit, spearheaded by Philippine-based Canadian national and ‘daddy blogger’ Ricky Shetty, will show Filipinos how to be part of this happy, productive and growing community
