P.S. Don’t read this.
So, I just watched Disney on Ice Dare to Dream yesterday. And while I was very much impressed by the set and costume design, including the great choreography, I can’t help but get upset about the story plot and how Disney ruined every girl in the world.
The Dare to Dream them revolves around finding the Prince or that man to make your life better, your knight in shining armour, who will sweep you away from your dull sad uncomplete life as a princess. That he will end all your misery and hebis rhe solution to all your problems. What a lie! How manipulative!
Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty the most popilar Disney princesses stories I’ve read, wartched and heard growing up all tells us of a princr charming probably the same douchebage who swept the panties of all three princess who really didn’t live happily ever but more pathetic than ever after.
Sorry, am I sounding like a Bitterella?
While I was watching Dare to Dream yesterday I can’t gelp but roll my eyes with hearing that Snow white just wished to meet her prince and Cinderella just want to dance in the ball and and meet the prince.
I was happy at the Tangled story. Not the typical damsell in distress story. Cizbit was written and made in this decade jot tge old decade where people were nade to believe that girls just make for housewives and make their man and kids happy. That women live to be that way.
The Tangled Rapunsel story did not wish for a man but to follow her dream and see the lights. That is a purpose see new things explore new world. She was a good daughter to what she thought was her mother. Seized an opportunity to finally make her dreams to reality. And while doing so discovered so many things and more truth than what she was sheltered from.
Women are not just moms or wife. We are a person of our own. We have personal dream to fulfill and not just be wife and mother. We just want to be ourself. Not living for others but us.
Does anyone who are reading this get me? Or did anyone even get to this point?
This is the reason I don’t read Disney stories to my daughter I don’t want her to believe in this bullshit we were all programmed to believe. I’m glad there’s new breed of fairytales.
