When my sister came home from Dubai for a vacation last December she got my daughter a Leap Pad from Leap Frog that she got in Malaysia. My daughter loved it so much. I love it that she loved it because its a fun educational toy that reads for her. Something a child with autism like her who is non-verbal to encourage her to talk and recognize stuff. Since they are visual learners this toy is great for her.
You just put some batteries and place the book on the Leap Pad and stride the pen and it reads. Awesome!

But sadly, because of careless nanny its now broke its been months because I was searching for a service center or somewhere I can send the thing to get fixed. The distributor here in the Philippines did not replied to my query and so did the U.S. manufacturer. If you will buy this stuff here in the Philippines it will cost somewhere around P2,700.
I also learned that this was the common damage of Leap Pads the pen gets broken and so it reads on its own even without pointing anything.
After a few months of waiting I got my daughter another Leap Frog toy. This time it’s the Click Start. It’s a wireless keyboard you can connect to your television virtually turning it to a child friendly PC. There are 4 built-in-games in it, the basic ones like typing letters and numbers and also drag and click games. This one was on sale for p5,000. If you want to buy tapes it’s P750 each. I decided not to buy the tapes yet because she just needed the basics. Probably next month I’ll get her a new leap pad too coz she got a lot of books already.
It’s quite expensive for a toy but I think its worth it if I want my daughter encouraged to talk and learn letters at the same time. Since she is so interested in computers and typing, she always butt in whenever I am in front of the computer and types away. I even had put sounds with my keyboard when she uses it so she can hear the letters as she type them. So, this toy is so perfect for her. Take a look how she enjoyed her new toy.
You can set the toy in picture mode where the child types a letter it will show a picture of an animal beginning in that letter, makes the sound of the letter and then say the letter itself. Or you can put it in letter mode where the child only sees the letter and hear the letters.
You need 4 double A batteries and 4 C batteries before you plug this wireless keyboard on your TV to make it operational.
