How Much Was Spent For PGMA 2009 SONA Preparations

There were 18 thermal scanners scattered all over the Batasang Pambansa to make sure of the safety of all attendees of one of the most awaited political event in Philippine history every year.  A unit cost around P18,000 to P20,000.

Vaccines was also bought for the 3,000 employees of the Lower House which was an addition to the 2,000 vaccines purchased earlier.  A vaccine cost about P300 each.

For the health security alone, preparations for the 2009 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo  cost about P1.86 million.

If we include the 1080p Projector she used for her slide presentation during her speech which cost about more than P30.000 and her gown from Inno Sotto allegedly worth more than half a million P500,000+ .  If these estimates are true the country spent P2.5 million for PGMA’s last/latest SONA.

So, with what you heard about PGMA’s biting speech is spending this amount worth it?
