If you are aiming to have your blog an income generating one, having a search engine optimized (SEO) friendly blog or site is one of the best way. SEO is the thing that lands your blog to the front page of every search engine on the net like the big G (Google), the new B (Bing.com) and the big Y! (Yahoo).
First thing you need to do is to submit your blog or site to an SEO friendly web directory so that your site will be included in their directory of blogs or site to crawl when someone do a search of some terms or keywords. There are a hundreds of SEO directory some are free and some are paid if you have the budget and are aiming for the big thing then do the paid one.
The you have to optimize your site by adding meta tags which is usually a HTML code added on your blogs home page so that when the search engine robots do a search they can find your blog immediately.
Next is to SEO optimize your pages. One of the easiest techniques that I’ve learned by asking around other blogger friends is to have a keyword or term in your post highlighted and tagged. That landed this blog to the front pages of the big G. You can try by searching these keywords and you will see my blog and find out what I mean: SM City North EDSA Sky Garden and you will see my blog on the front page of the search.
Another way to do it is to find some SEO friendly lay-out or blog theme because this kind of theme already has meta tags included on the HTML codes and you don’t have to do much on coding and stuff. There are a lot of SEO friendly blog themes available on the internet now some are paid and some are free. If you are using wordpress you can find one on your themes tab and search for SEO optimized theme in the keywords.
The more prominent your blog appear on search engine, particularly on the front page the better. This is also how you get your page ranked or get a page rank (PR). Good luck!
