A Trip To Switzerland

I would love to visit Switzerland someday. I would like to see actually how it is like to be in the second happiest country in the world and one of the top 10 riches country in the world.  Being a part of Europe I imagine it is surrounded with wonderful picturesque scenery and architecture.

It must be an awesome place to be at being the home of the International Red Cross and World Health Organization and if I remember right the richest and most trusted bank in the world can also be found in one of their regions particularly in Zurich

But aside from housing these notable organizations and trusted bank Switzerland has a wealth of outdoor activities to its visitors. I would like to try skiing in the Alps or try water rafting and boating in Geneva.

I already planned out my itinerary on my trip to this country and here are my top five Swiss Gem picks for an activity:

1) The adventurer in me would definitely go for that Geneva boat ride. I believe I can have the adrenaline rush I am looking for in this ride that involves an 8 kilometer water rafting tour along the river Arve that passes through six rapids before flowing to the Rhône in the middle of Geneva.

2) I will test my endurance by experiencing the 4000 meter high peak climb at Mt Allalinhorn. I believe it will be a great experience to conquer be able to conquer this vertical ascent and rewarded myself with the fantastic panoramic view at the top.

3) The tales of the night watchman at Schaffausen is something not to miss. I will definitely join them as they patrol the city in the night it will be like travelling back in time.

4) Despite being a scared cat, the ghost walk with Dan Dent in Zurich is something I will definitely try. It would be a spine chilling adventure to know the violent and spooky stories behind the picturesque backdrop of this wonderful city.

5) And what is traveling without having a taste of a country cuisine. I will definitely make a stop at the Hotel Waldhaus and sink myself to a gastronomic treat as I learn about the hotel history for gourmets at the Flims. I heard they serve seven courses with seven different wines during this tour at this 132 year old hotel ! Fantastic.

If you notice my itinerary in Switzerland is not limited to a type of activity.   My trip covers food, adventure in the outdoors and history. But aside from the things I mentioned above there are so many things you can do to be able to Discover Swiss “Pearls” and experience a wide range of activities unique to Switzerland.

Now, who wants to join me on this trip?
