Alice In Wonderland Movie Review

Tell me, what are the six impossible things you will see in this movie?  I suggest you forget about it.

This review will be very short but not sweet. I can only summarize it to 6 commendable things Tim Burton and Walt Disney was able to achieve with the movie:

1. Awesome make-up and costume.
2. Great production.
3. Amazing  sounds and effects.
4. Good acting  Johnny Depp.
5. Good portrayal of the White Queen Ann Hathaway.
6. Good job to Helena Bonham Carter for her portrayal of the Red Queen.

But as for the script it was too heavy and was far from what I expect. It was too serious. I was expecting some laugh-out-loud moments and some heart breaking scenes that would make me cry. But I guess I expected too much?

Or because that was the twist from the fun and light Alice in Wonderland that we all know.  Yup I think so.  This Wonderland was so gloomy and sad and depressing. But of course what do I expect from Tim Burton.

Kids could still enjoy it for the eye-candy and whimsical characters.  But I think some parts could give them nightmares specially those heads that were floating around the Red Queens castle.

Alice in Wonderland is now showing in Philippine theaters nationwide starting today March 4, 2010 with an exclusive IMAX 3D screening at  SM North EDSA IMAX Theater.
