I consider myself a newbie makeup junkie. Although I use makeup, I’m not as knowledgeable about them compare to the other five fellow beauty and lifestyle bloggers who were invited by Elianto last week to talk about beauty. The basic makeup items like pencil eyeliner, face powder, lip gloss and blusher are enough for me. I don’t explore my cosmetics options that much and I only stick to products that I have tried and tested. Reason behind this is because my face is kinda sensitive to some cosmetics. I have the tendency to get irritated or have allergic reactions like rashes and burns which is something I try to avoid.
I’m only able to experience new cosmetics line when I need to put on makeup for special occasions and a makeup artist is involved.
So when we talked about beauty and beauty products I was quiet listening to what Shen of Shens Addiction, Sophie of Beautynomics, Nikki of Askmewhats, Jennie of Kikay Corner and Rowena of Animetric’s World got to say about it. I was floored about their experiences with a wide selection of beauty product line, I only know a few.
The beauty talk happened at Kimono Ken at The Block SM City North EDSA which is opposite the Elianto The Block branch.
After a hearty talk and meal we were taken to the store to go beauty shopping! Yipee! Big cosmetic boutiques kinda overwhelms and the snob and sometimes annoying sales ladies irks me too me so I don’t normally go inside and take a look. When I need to buy my makeup I go straight to the less intimidating stores like the SM cosmetics section zoom in to my brands, pick the products I need buy and leave.
The trip to the Elianto boutique was fun and exciting because I was with friends and makeup aficionados I can ask them freely without having to look foolish because we were there to know their products more.
We were all given a shopping basket each I was super excited to browse their cosmetics bar and it took me awhile to dump things in it.
Girls, shopping, make-up, what can be much more fun than that!
By the way if you don’t know yet, Elianto is a brand of skin care, cosmetics and makeup products from Malaysia. They opened their first store here in the Philippines in 2006 at SM Mall of Asia. Elianto is an Italian word meaning sunflower and they want to be know as a brand representing high quality, naturally-inspired skin care and makeup at affordable prices.
elianto started in 2005, when the founding company, Classic Bonita, opened its first store in the First World Resort at Genting Highlands. Today, elianto has over 60 outlets in Malaysia, and franchises in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines. The brand is soon to make its entry into other countries in the Asian region like Thailand, China, Indonesia, Kuwait, Jordan, and India.
I was overwhelmed with the many beauty products at the make-up bar, while others were easily maneuvering their way to their favorite products I was still looking and reading and asking and learning. So when we were asked who wants a make-over I immediately volunteered myself. This is my way to know which products to buy.
