Sex And The City 2 (SATC 2) Movie Review

I think Sex and the City 2 (SATC 2) is better than the first SATC movie. Why? Because I think the second captivates and tackles a complete story of the essence of being a woman. This movie is the real women empowerment movie,  although some conservative people may not agree with this. SATC 2 tackles issues of womanhood such as menopause, being newly-wed, motherhood, being a career woman, aside from the petite things like shopping and fashion were tackled in the movie which I think is great.

The movie is so much fun! One of my most favorite part in SATC2 was Liza Mineli’s appearance and her song number!  “If you want it then you shoulda put a ring on it!” Haha!  Great job on this number/scene!  The gay wedding was over the top though, the production and all but it was pure genius!    Ooops! Sorry for the tiny spoiler!

For those who are looking for the fashion and glamor Sex and the City is very known for, don’t worry the style is still there, some luxury items not everyone can afford but can dream about, Valentino, Birkin etc.

As of this post and the exclusive advance premiere of SATC2 last night (May 25, 2010) held in Manila at Megamall Cinema 6, thanks to Haagen Dazs and Warner Bros.  the movie has not been rated by the MTRCB yet.   But I think it will get a Rated R for some sexual content.

SATC 2 will probably get some Middle Eastern authorities/ Emirates fuming about the movie because it somehow mocks the entire tradition/culture/beliefs of the Middle Eastern people and although the movie banners that the setting was in Abu Dhabi, SATC 2 Abu Dhabi scenes were actually shot in Morocco. No wonder Dubai did not permitted this movie be filmed there.

SATC fans should watch the movie and I encourage non-SATC fans to watch the movie too. The movie is beyond fashion and glamor. It tackles life and what goes on in the minds of women, empowered women. I liked how SATC2 go beyond gender, race, religion and sexual preferences!

SATC 2 Movie synopsis
What happens after you say “I do?”  Life is everything the ladies ever wished it to be, but it wouldn’t be “Sex and the City” if life didn’t hold a few more surprises…this time in the form of a glamorous, sun-drenched adventure that whisks the women away from New York to one of the most luxurious, exotic and vivid places on earth, where there’s something mysterious around every corner.  It’s an escape that comes exactly at the right moment for the four friends, who are finding themselves in—and fighting against—the traditional roles of marriage, motherhood and more.
After all, sometimes you just have to get away with the girls.

SATC 2 will be shown in cinemas June 2, 2010.

  1. Did you notice the laptop Carrie used at her apartment? I don’t think it’s an HP though. I saw the Apple dock. But anyway every computer can be installed with a customized dock, just my curiosity (not familiar with HP machines). What do you think?
.-= Kessa Thea´s last blog ..The Body Shop Haul =-.

  2. @ Kessa I know the story is better and not like the SATC1 which I think is just like a TV special 🙂 This one is the best by far.
