UPDATE: After almost a year and the successful launch of the first Forever 21 Philippines in Megamall it will branch out and opens its door closer to those who lives in the South of Manila. I was invited again to the Forever 21 Makati VIP Opening on Thursday, April 7, 2011 with public opening on April 8, 2011! I’m so excited!
Shopaholics around the metro told me that a flood of shoppers trooped the public opening of Forever 21 in SM Megamall yesterday. They had to endure two hours of going around the store because it was so huge (at 2,700 sqm shopping area) and two hours waiting in line to cash out! Total madness!
Was it worth it to shop like that?
If you want to satiate the shopaholic in you and you’ve been waiting for Forever 21 to be a stone throw away, then it definitely is.
See, shopaholics like me can’t sleep unless we shop, the aching feet, the long waiting time in the fitting room and to the cashier during the F21 VIP Pre-opening was all worth it. We were there from 6PM to 9:30PM In fact I was able to get 2 of the 11 items on my wish list at the Forever 21 opening. They are from the latest Forever 21 Twist Collection
Here is my loot:
I want this:
I got this!
Same sleeveless loose cut I was looking for but different color (green/Yellow/Aqua) Php 818.00
I want this:
I got this!
Same racerback sleeveless with ruching across the bodice scoopneck but different color (Orange/Aqua/Purple) Php718.50
And then another one not on my Forever 21 wish list!
A floral knit spaghetti top with ruffles on the front and nice knit detail at the back (Black/Aqua) Php818.50
And then some more!
Accessories!
L-R: Hand accessory Php368.50; Stud earrings (clear/gold/black) Php238.50; Bracelet Php498.50; Earrings (clear stud/pearl heart/black flower/ Eifle Tower) Php238.50; Oblong Jewel Gunmetal Ring (rhinestone studded) Php368.50
For clothes the price was Php100 to at least Php200 higher than the online price of F21. But I guess that is the amount equal to shipping and handling we pay when we buy online minus the fact that we have to wait 2 weeks to a month to get the items we bought and dealing with the post office/customs people. For accessories they are a lot cheaper.
For that shopping I got Php400 good as cash voucher I can use on my next F21 shopping! They were giving out Php100 cash voucher for every Php1,000 spent but only for the VIP night I still have to collect the Php200 voucher I wasn’t able to get during the F21 VIP pre-selling and I can snag another dress I was looking for at half the price.
If you don’t want to wait long hours in line to fit the clothes you want and cash out I’ll advise you to wait until the hype is over (but I doubt it because next seasons collection will soon be out) If you can’t wait go ahead and shop now or as soon as you can!
Basic t-shirts starts at not more than Php126.00 to Php286.00 and other clothes dressier stuff is not more than Php1,900.
Happy shopping!
