I would like to thank Coca-Cola Philippines for giving the youth of this generation the opportunity to enjoy and love Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and artist in this massive 10-hour concert held last Saturday at the SM MOA concert grounds, the Concert ng Bayan. The timing was perfect for the young people to enjoy an all-night event as its the start of summer vacation! Woohoo!
The Concert ng Bayan is the grandest leg of Coca-Cola Philippines 100th year anniversary celebration in the country to date, the groundbreaking music fest did not only witnessed the epic joining of forces of top Pinoy bands including Parokya ni Edgar with Gloc 9, Sandwich with Jay Durias, 6-Cycle Mind with Eunice & Kleggy, Callalily with Ebe Dancel, Rico Blanco with Never the Strangers and Itchyworms, SpongeCola with Chicosci, Ely Buendia with Pupil and Wolfgang plus DJ QYork but also a refreshing collaboration by sought-after, A-list performers Gary Valenciano and Sarah Geronimo as well as fast-rising electro-pop artist Somedaydream, for the infectiously fun and upbeat, chart-topping Coca-Cola 100 Years anniversary anthem, Tuloy.
I have to admit, I wasn’t there when the show started at 3PM, I got at the concert grounds that night at 9PM, just right to have a glance at Gloc9 performance and an overview of the audience who came for the concert!
Next set was Chito Miranda Parokya ni Edgar, everyone was crazy about it and Chito was so nice to remind the men/boys in the audience to be nice to the girls/ladies in the concert grounds.
Unlike the others who went there to cover the event, I don’t have a SLR camera, but I believe I took a lot of decent photos using my HTC Sensation and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″.
Gary Valenciano, Sarah Geronimo and SomedayDream performing Tuloy I took this photo using my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″
Sarah Geronimo proving her title as Pop Princess, she’s so charming and very energetic, powerful voice too. She performed the Last Dance grinding her way up the stage. Then left everyone in tear when she sang Adele and Whitney Houston hits
Before that Craig David performed for an hour singing his latest single from his latest album, he also sang his hits like Walking Away, Rise and Fall and Insomia
Ely Buendia and Pupil was the last to perform for the concert about, everyone, including me waited until 3am for that! My HTC Sensation was nearing empty battery when I took shots of his performance, I’m glad it was good.
