When we mention spring or summer what comes to mind would be pretty pastels that are light and breezy, but for the makeup looks forget about them. The Beauty Trend for this year is all about rich pigments of red, turquoise, cobalt, plum and orange. Conventional rules for beauty don’t apply this year either, it’s more about being bold and experimental with color combinations and where to apply them are highly encourage.
L’Oreal Paris Philippines the official makeup sponsor for 4 seasons now of the Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 has come up with the makeup lookbook, the beauty trends that you will see strutting in the runways. The looks are varied and arresting. Most draw inspiration from the late 19th century art movement, to the political frenzy of the ’60s, ’70s and the different historical cultural and historical landmarks. The makeup looks that complete the whole look together.
Look #1: ’40’s Redux
Highlights: Slim brows, winged liner, red lips.
What makes this old Hollywood look fresh for the modern woman is the watercolor like blending of Pink Blush on luminescent skin
How to do it:
Face: Apply Luscent Magique BB Cream to prep the skin and top it off with True Match Super-Blendable Foundation. Hide some trouble spots by blending in some True Match Super Blendable Concealer.
Cheeks: Using soft and round brush strokes, color the apples of the cheeks with True Match Blush in Pink Grapefruit. Sweep color up to the temples as well.
Eyebrows: Use clear mascara to groom the brows then lightly fill them with the Brow Stylist Custom Brow Shaping pencil.
Lips: Apply Color Riche Lipstick in Red Passion straight from the tube onto the lips.
Eyes: Using your fingers, dab a subtle gray shade from the Open Eyes Pro in Gray Harmony palette on the eyelids. Line the upper lashes with a liquid eyeliner with a bit of shine such as the Super Liner in Black Lacquer then coat the upper lashes with Double Extension Curl Mascara
Look #2: Pink and Mauve
Highlights: a different twist to smokey eyes using Mauve
Despite it’s bad reputation as an unflattering shade to most skin tones, mauve is actually a great option color for the new season’s smokey eyes!
How to do it:
Face: Apply Lucent Maique BB Cream on the face. For trouble spots, dab some True Match Super Blendable Concealer
Lips: Fill in the lips with Color Riche Lipcolour in Berry Blush
Cheeks: Apply the True Match Delice in Rosy Cheeks on the apples of the cheeks, temple and across the bridge of the nose – the “ski jump’ blush.
Eyes: Apply pink shadow from Open Eyes Pro in Purple Pink on the eyelids with round brush strokes, diffusing the color near the eyebrows. Apply shadow on the lower lash line as well using dampened brush. Using feather-light brush strokes, blend in mauve shadow from the palette on the inner eyebrow for a subtle color change. Blend it in with the pink using round brush strokes. Line the upper lash line and the outer edge of the lower lash line with Super Liner in Black Lacquer then coat the lashes with Curl Impact Collagene.
