Where do you celebrate New Year’s Eve, Philippines?
After my father passed away. the family, at least what’s left of it, started a new tradition. That is not to celebrate the New Year’s eve or even Christmas at home.
We did not plan it to be that way but it just happened. Suddenly we just don’t want to celebrate holidays at home anymore, maybe because even if we are not saying it, deep in our heats, the pain of missing someone is still there and it lingers especially when there are special occasions like this.
Missing is not a bad thing. The family has been going around places during the Holidays now. For years now we have found the best places to celebrate New Year’s eve Philippines . I categorize them as the best place to be based on who put up the best fireworks, the best dinner , the best party who draws in the crowd, and yes the best crowd to party the year away! For me they are the place you want to be when the year rolls over, if not at home (or where your heart is).
To sum up where I’ve been here are so far the Best Places To Celebrate New Year’s Eve Philippines
What's Inside
Sofitel Philippine Plaza

What I like best: Best food ever (eat-all-you-can until your tummy hurts haha), ambiance and the people are all dressed to the nines! You can choose to party inside the Spiral where there’s a balloon drop or outside the pool area Treasure Island where there’s fresh air and yes perfect view for the fireworks display at midnight! Both venues have live band performances too!
Here’s a video of the lovely fireworks display at Sofitel:
Boracay

What I like best: They have the longest fireworks display ever and the fireworks stretch all across the beach/ shore line. Unlike partying at a hotel, people celebrating New Year’s eve Philippines countdown on the beach of Boracay are dressed comfortably (mostly beach wear) , everybody party and get drunk until the sun rises! After the dinner and the fireworks you can go party hopping . Most of the party scene happens at the right side of the beach area (view coming from Caticlan/Kalibo via boat). If you plan to dine and wine at the five star venues better book now. If you are unable to book I suggest you go shop at the restaurants near the Talipapa area in Boracay have your new year food cooked there and bring at your hotel or beachfront .
Here’s a nice 9 minute video of the fireworks display in Boracay:
