I think it has been two months already since the last time I used a makeup foundation. I don’t like using one lately because of the hot and humid weather we have lately. I don’t like the heavy, sticky, and uncomfy feel of makeup on days like this. But as soon as I saw the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Teint Singulier Powdercreme Veil Foundation in my bag of gifts from my highschool best friend I was more than eager to try it out immediately. Yay! She gave a a couple more makeup items in that bag and I’more than willing to tell you all about it as soon as possible. Now back to this YSL foundation.
A creme that transforms into a soft powder veil. Perfects and evens out the complexion like a second skin, for a sheer, natural finish.
Product Shots and Swatches
- I love how easy it glides on the skin. Texture started as cream and dries as a soft sheer satin powder.
- Its good for those with oily skin because of its matte finish
- Coverage is light to medium.
- It tends to crease and stay on lines if not blended well.
- Has a tendency to get cakey if not blended well.
- I got the #4 foundation which matches my skin tone perfectly!
Tips to maximize use and efficacy:
- Be careful at putting on too much and not blending well as it tends to make your face look very white especially on flash photography.
- Blend using a powder or kabuki brush after spreading evenly with fingers.
- Make sure to moisturize well as it tends to enhance dry skin or peeling and white heads!
If you have absolutely flawless and hydrated skin,I definitely recommend this. Although it has a matte finish it is non-drying and stay on skin for hours without having to need any touch-ups. Definitely an oil away foundation powdercreme ! Sadly, YSL Teint Singulier Sheer Powdercreme Veil Foundation was discontinued already since end of year last year 2012. So I got the last of the mohicans!
Stay gorgeous everyone!

I love the matte finish on your skin Earth. Too bad it’s discontinued already. Any other foundation you can recommend that has the same effect like this one?
i haven’t tried any YSL products (yet) mainly because it’s out of my budget range (as of the moment). i agree that it gives off a white cast especially on your photo with the flash. might do some more research if i land on buying this product in the future.
