I’m assuming all of us want to become the best versions of ourselves. However because of circumstances we are often forced to settle for what is or “pwede na”.
One example of this is when we get our government ID picture taken. More often we don’t look our best beautiful when our photos are taken because we are already harassed with the paper works and long lines and all those stuff. We just want to get it on and not really care how we look in our ID which is very wrong in a way.
Our IDs will be with us until the expiration date, and if we look horrendus on it, we will just have to endure and settle for it until it is time again to renew and the cycle goes on and on and on. We will never have our best government ID photo ever.
Well not for me this time. I have endured almost 5 years of my ugly looking passport picture and will never ever go back to that ever!
This was just one of my realizations at the 3rd season of the Olay Conversations with Boy Abunda where he interviewed three empowered women coming from different background but arr now at their #BestBeautiful chapter in their life.
The three women are KC Conception, Kathryn Bernardo and Bea Valdez. KC being a child of super popular parents made a name for herself and no longer just the daughter of Sharon and Gabby. Kathryn who from being an extra to TV child star is now Teen Queen, and Bea coming from a family of jewelry traders is now a renowned accessories designer.
While they have enough achievements for a lifetime, they refuse to settle but will try to soar to even greater heights and become the best version of themselves.
This is what Olay is hoping for not just for KC, Kathryn and Bea but for all Filipinas not to settle as well.
A simple step towards this advocacy was having a makeover for some women at a government ID issuing office so they will come out their #bestbeautiful in their IDs as they leave the office. It is a simple thing they’ve done but it sure made those women realize they should not settle for “pwede na”.
Just like what Boy Abunda said at the Olay Conversations event “Being your Best Beautiful is a power and a right to be claimed. It is being an empowered woman who knows her worth and knows her world. Not being content with pwede na ako eh and what is just there.”
I agree 100%
In fact even befoee the event started guest were asked to write their personal story or belief and this is what I wrote:
Another installation in the event was a makeover area where another affirmation for your Best Beautiful to come out awaits! “I will impress the woman in the mirror!”
Of course the feels of Olay Conversations with my fellow bloggers Kath Rivera, Ruth dela Cruz, Kaycee Enerva, Rochelle Rivera, and Kumiko Mae.
Stay gorgeous everyone.
