Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour & Color Review

Happy Skin Glam Suad Contour & Color Review

One of the makeup skills I don’t have is contouring.  I remember telling Bianca Valerio about this at a makeup event before and she said she would gladly teach me.  Unfortunately that makeup sesh did not happen and contouring remained to be a makeup skill I still have to learn.

Just recently, Happy Skin gifted me with their Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour & Color kit.   I was not able to attend the launch of the Glam Squad makeup collection launch.  The launch introduced the entire Glam Squad made up of the Philippines top celebrity makeup artist Jigs Mayuga, Denise Go-Ochoa, Sarte and Mickey See.  It would have been great to be there and learn a trick or two especially with contouring.

Having said that, I have to learn contouring by myself by watching YouTube videos and trying to remember how some makeup artist do it to me during shoots.  Without further ado, here’s the Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour & Color swatched and how I applied it on myself.

The casing is made of metallic rose gold mirror finish with embossed logo. It was kinda hard to take a photo of it without me being reflected on the mirror so this is the best shots I can take of it.

Contour on the left and blush on the right. As you can see the contour is just a few shades darker than my actual skintone. The Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour & Color shade I have is Rose & Tau

What I think of it?

  • I love that the finish looks really natural. The shade I got was perfect for my skintone as well.
  • Best to use with an angled blush.
  • While I have problem seeing the contour effect appear at first because I was looking through a camera, it took me a couple of swipe for me to get satisfied with the color. I think it was my fault because I used without foundation on. This was my bare face. Maybe color would appear more prominent if I have foundation on. I will try it next time and show you the result. But I like it as it is I might just have to adjust a little higher to get my contours even more sharper.

This was my first time contouring myself. Did I do a good job? My makeup artist friend Sai said it was good, I actually did the contouring over my personal Facebook Page Live! Turning the post public so you can see.
