Prof. Bengal Just Launched a “Purr-fect” Curriculum for Cats — Featuring Paste Treats and Kind Kibble!

Prof Bengal with Liza Hope Soberano

The cats have officially entered the chat. 🐾 Prof. Bengal, the feline-focused sister brand of Dr. Shiba, has launched the Philippines’ first-ever functional paste treats for cats — the new Cat Paste Treats — alongside Kind Kibble, its latest innovation in cat nutrition.

The big reveal happened at Prof. Bengal University, a super fun, campus-inspired launch at Pause Pet Lodge, where vets, media, and proud cat parents came together for a crash course in what’s next for feline wellness.

Carrying the same research-first DNA that made Dr. Shiba a go-to name for dogs, Prof. Bengal is on a mission to make healthy cat care both scientific and snack-worthy. Backed by vets and built on real research, every Prof. Bengal product is designed to make feline nutrition simple for humans — and irresistible for cats.

“We wanted to make healthier choices accessible for cat parents and irresistible for their cats,” shared Philipp ‘Phil’ Renner, Founder and CEO of Dr. Shiba and Prof. Bengal. “Every ingredient has a purpose — proof that healthy can also be delicious and affordable.”

The star of the show? Cat Paste Treats — the country’s first functional paste treats. Unlike regular pastes that are just indulgent snacks, these are nutritional power-ups packed with purpose:

  • 🧡 Taurine for heart and vision

  • 🐟 Salmon oil for skin and coat

  • 🌿 Prebiotics for digestion

The texture? Smooth, creamy, and oh-so-aromatic — basically cat crack in a tube. Even the pickiest eaters won’t say no.

“Cats are famously selective eaters,” Renner added. “That’s why we created something that’s not just good for them but something they’ll actually crave.”

Following the launch, Prof. Bengal also introduced Kind Kibble for Cats — a natural extension of its mission to make better pet nutrition easy and enjoyable. Building on the success of Dr. Shiba’s Kind Kibble for Dogs, this cat version uses fresh chicken, chicken liver, and sweet potato, boosted with frozen cod and blueberries for complete daily nutrition minus the fillers and fake stuff.

And yes — Liza Soberano showed up as the brand’s “Visiting Professor.” The Hollywood actress, now a proud cat mom herself, shared how Prof. Bengal has quickly become a staple in her fur family. “I’ve seen how Dr. Shiba helped my dog Yuna — and now I’m seeing the same results with my cats,” she said.

The event also featured Dr. Roxanne Ignacio, DVM, who talked about the importance of functional nutrition for cats — proving that treats can be both tasty and good for their health.

With Dr. Shiba now in over 1,500 stores across Asia and the UK — serving over three million customers — Prof. Bengal is stepping into the spotlight to give our feline friends the same science-backed love.

And here’s a fun fact: according to Kantar (2024), 94% of Filipino households have at least one pet — so yes, it’s about time our cats got their own kind of care.

In line with their advocacy for animal welfare, Prof. Bengal and Dr. Shiba continue to support rescue groups like Pawssion Project and other partners making real change for stray and shelter pets.

🐾 Prof. Bengal’s Cat Paste Treats and Kind Kibble are now available on dr-shiba.com, LazMall, Shopee Mall, and TikTok Shop — with more stores joining the rollout this month.

Because better cat care? It’s officially part of the syllabus.
