For The Departed

This was taken at the Ever Memorial Gardens during my father’s cremation.

November 2, 2008 is All Souls Day here in the Philippines. This is the day we remember our departed loved ones. I know we shouldn’t be sad because they are in a better place now far from earthly desires, feelings and emotions but at the same time it’s kind of a sad day too since we who are still left behind miss them so much.

The pain and sadness I feel for the loss of my father will be forever with me. Every time I think of him it pinches my heart and my eyes become misty. I miss you Papa. Thank you for watching over us, Thank You for your visits from time to time.

For All Souls Day and All Saints Day this is my simple offering to all my friends and relatives who has gone before me.

To the departed whom we now remember, may peace and bliss be granted in life eternal. May they find grace and mercy before the Lord of heaven and earth. May their souls rejoice in the ineffable good which God has laid up for those who fear Him, and may their memory be a blessing unto those who treasure it. Amen.

O loving God . . . I pray you to welcome my deceased family, friends, loved ones into heaven with you. Forgive them their sins and reward them their goodness. Grant that I may be with them again in your Peaceful presence. Amen.

Light a candle online for your loved ones.
