We all know we love to spend for the best gift for our loved ones to show them that we appreciate their presence in our lives but since it’s the season to be thrifty too because of the recession that is felt all over the world, it’s not so bad to be practical on our gift giving.

Tips to thank in a thoughtful thrifty trend (gift giving)

It’s the thought that counts and thoughts become things. When thinking of gifts for your loved ones always remind yourself what things they like and things they would definitely find useful and not something that will go on the storage.

There is one thing I would definitely suggest for everyone to give this year it’s something that they will truly appreciate and something that they will definitely use, a gift card/ gift check/ gift certificate/gift pass. Light, practical and very thoughtful.

The receiver will be happier to buy or get what she really wants or needs and the giver won’t have to worry about gift wrapping or carrying bulky stuff.

For Kids
Most kids love playing and what better gift to give them but a gift pass to shop for their favorite toy at their favorite store or play games at their favorite arcade.

For Teens
Depending on their likes and hobbies you won’t go wrong with a gift pass to their favorite arcade and shopping mall or their favorite hang-out like Starbucks.

For Women
You will never go wrong with a gift certificate at their favorite shopping places, shoe store, make-up store, perfume, bags etc. They will simply adore you for giving them a gift pass on a Spa just to pamper theirselves and be treated like a queen!

For Men
Things they like include sports and gadgets. But one thing is definite they don’t like shopping as much as women do. They won’t admit it flatly that is. However, shopping for their sports gear or gadgets is something they enjoy. Gadgets and their accesories are something we women are no expert so instead of buying something they don’t like or something they already have give them a gift certificate to their favorite gadget store, sports and gears store and the like.

If you still want something personalized to give them then why don’t you include a card you handcrafted and insert the gift certificate in there. The personal touch is still there and its a gift you are definitely sure they won’t throw, store or give away.
