In less than two months, the whole town will be painted red literally because hearts and cupids will be all over the place. Obviously hearts day is coming and it’s something that lovers enjoy and single people loathe.
The last time I enjoyed Valentines Day was when I was in college more than 10 years ago and love letter, chocolates, roses and movie, park or zoo dates was still a thing. Those were the standard Valentine Gifts I would usually receive from suitors.
Boys were still romantic that time and the internet and cellphones was still a concept that they write sweet love letters. Now they only send one-liner text messages and copy pasted poems and love quotations on the internet.
After giving birth and making a wrong choice of a biological father for my daughter, Valentines lost its luster to me. It’s just another commercialized day where most gets to be depressed because they realize their expectations of a lover was not met.
Anyway, don’t mind me and my little rants. I just looked outside the window and I saw how big the moon is right now, close to being a full moon any time soon. I guess its the moon affecting my moods again. Ciao!

On Valentine’s Eve, we (fellow non-mushy singletons) are taking a limo across town playing poker and heading to dinner.
We are having a Cupid’s Memorial Service on Valentine’s Day 🙂

I think Valentines Day is the most overrated celebration (if you consider it as such) in the country. And if it’s Valentines, I don’t anticipate the overrated gestures, I anticipate heavy traffic and absences from work. And since, I am not working on that day this year, I am going to celebrate it with my one true love now, my self. 🙂
