My “Hanna” Movie Review

I didn’t know what to expect when I sat down that private showing at My Cinema in Greenbelt last night but as soon as the first scenes unfolded I was totally glued to the movie.

The first scene was intriguing and the shots was amazing!  It looked like an art movie because of the composition of each shots but it is actually a suspense action thriller with a very controversial theme revolving around a teenage girl who was born with an altered DNA and become the perfect killing machine.

It was my first time to see this girl who played the role of Hanna,   Saoirse Saoirse (pronounced “sear-sha”) Ronan, in the movie she is a 16 year old girl who goes out into the world for the first time to find herself not knowing she will be out there to battle for her life.

Saoirse won an Academy Award already for the movie Atonement, a movie I have never seen either! Hah! I should watch!  The girl is amazing, very skilled in acting and in martial arts!  Great fight scenes!  I also love the soundtrack!  I also enjoyed the little trip around Europe!  I wanna go there someday soon!

Aside from Saoirse,  Eric Bana and Cate Blanchet was in the movie.

Eric playes Erik the widowed father of Hanna who raised and trained her to hunt in the wilderness of Finland.   He is also an ex-CIA agent who became MIA after the death of Hanna’s mother.

Cate plays the role of  Marissa Wiegler, a cold-steel magnolia CIA agent who once upon a time worked in the field with Erik.

Both Eric and Cate did justice to their roles, very convincing, and I’ve never seen them in such a role before!  It was something new for both of them I believe and it was worth it!  I think an award is up for this movie.

Movie Info
Raised by her father, Erik (Bana) in the wilds of Finland, Hanna’s (Ronan) upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own. As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.
