Where The Heck Is That Meteor Shower?

As I stare at the vastness of the sky last night trying to see that meteor shower , I realized I haven’t done this thing in ages.  This thing , which is doing nothing but lay on the roof and gaze at the beauty of the sky without having my thoughts wander about the things I still need to do.  I haven’t hang-out on the roof  that long when my head started to wander and wished I had my gadgets up with me so I can do something while waiting.

But wait, doesn’t that depict my purpose of star gazing. Lay there, do nothing, wait.  I didn’t bring the gadgets up with me because the back light  will distort my night sky vision and I will not be able to see the stars or meteors (if any) clearly.

The report said there will be 25 meteors per hour .  If that is correct there should be a meteor every 3 minutes.  Where the heck is that meteor shower!

Oh! Did you know that on average a person gets impatient after 5 minutes of waiting?

Thoughts running through my head again.

Wow! I realized I missed being lazy like this.  I miss the times when I was not in a rush. I miss being laid-back taking things slow and just let things be and pass by.  How I missed those days.

This era is always on a rush, everyone is on a hurry.  Everyone doing more than one thing.  Everyone trying to be the first. Now life is more fleeting than ever.  People these days don’t have that cherish the moment.

What happened 6 hours ago would be considered old news now because of the internet and social media.  Everything is reported and told on the dot, and if you miss it, your bad, you are too slow to pick it up!  You weren’t plugged or logged in!  You are just too slow my dear.  Hurry up or you will miss the next !

Why are we all so into what’s next and not enjoy what’s here right now!

People, we should all learn to slow down.  Take time to enjoy each and every moment.  Because we can never ever go back.

What happened? Why did we get this way?

I think I know why.  I blame the internet.   I blame  social media — this era’s alternate reality, where one can only see  and talk  to the people they wanted, eavesdrop and stalk other people , something we really can’t do in real life situation.

Today, people are so attached to gadgets and social media that they rarely sit and just have a good time with a friend without having to peek at your BB, iPhone, iPad, Tablet or any gadget you own and inform your social media friends what are you doing at the moment!

Think about it, do they, the people in your social media, really need to know it now, like right away?

Why do you need to tell them right away?

To tell them you have a life outside social media?

I think you do such things to have something to say in your social media! Wake up!

Damn! Where are those meteor shower, I’ve been in the roof too long.

Impatient, I went down and browsed my Facebook and decided to go to sleep.  I don’t have time to do nothing.
