Even if I already found my HG mascara, I won’t stop discovering and trying out new ones so I could satisfy my own curiosity I’ve heard a lot of raves about Maybelline’s The Falsies Volume Express mascara but I haven’t got the chance to try it out personally until now. I’ve tried a number of Maybelline mascaras and some of them delivers, in fact one of the Volume Express product is one of my favorite.
Promises to give false lash glam instantly. Promises to give lashes 300% more volume corner-to-corner. Waterproof!

Since it claims it’s waterproof I wet my eyes and rubbed them as hard as I could and this is what I got: it didn’t smeared and I didn’t got a black eye, but the mascara feathered. Not bad as the residue can be brushed off easily.
Well, my lashes got thicker. But as you can see it looks clumpy and fibery.
- With regards to the waterproof claim, it is definitely waterproof as no amount of soap/ facial wash can remove the mascara entirely unless you use a makeup remover. The Maybelline Makeup Remover works best with this product. It didn’t smeared-off even if I rubbed my eyes with water and facial wash.
- As to the volume, make sure to apply it real quick as it dries out really fast!
- There’s a tendency to get clumpy as the mascara dries really fast. Apply more than 3 coats to get full volume you like.
Do I recommend it?
Its not that bad but not that great either. I can attest to the waterproof and volume. Just make sure to apply it as fast as possible and avoid air or facing the fan or aircon as it dries really really fast. I’ve never seen a fast-drying mascara like this before!

I’ve never tried Maybelline but I’m using Clinique now. Ok sya for me. I tried ELF last time, ok din for a lesser value.

I find most Maybelline mascaras dry really fast so yeah, they tend to clump. How much does it cost? Is it in the same range as their Magnum line at P300+ per tube?
I haven’e tried this but my favorite is the one in yellow tube. The maybelling Magnum Volume Express, I’ve been using it for years. 🙂
I’ve never tried this one but it looks okay naman.. My churchmate uses this one and she likes it. 🙂
