My parents set the bar for my dream wedding. If I can’t have the kind of wedding they had or the kinda fairy tale like whirlwind love story they had, I don’t want to get married at all. Hahahaha! Kidding!(Am I? Jokes are half-meant you know?! Hahahahaha!)
The Love Story
My mom was 35 and my dad was 41 when they got hitched. They “met” through the magazine’s Dear Cupid section. According to what I read from the magazine coverage of their love story,my father wrote Dear Cupid back asking to meet my mom after he read my brother’s letter looking for a father and a husband for our mother. My father’s letter was in Ilocano as published in the magazine but according to my mom’s translation, my father said he could be the one.
Reading through all the exchange letter it appeared that mom was not replying at my father’s letter at all. So my father wrote back again and this time addressing his letter to my mom asking her to see him. Maybe all the forces in the universe conspired until the day mom agreed to see my father.
Mom said, the first time he saw my dad, he ran and leaped on him like a puppy dog choosing his human and the rest was history which lead to the wedding date!
The Wedding Invitation
Read Up there are high-profile personalities in the sponsors list!
BTS the bride getting ready doing her hair and makeup.
The bridesmaids with the bride walking down the isle. I love the entourage gowns!
The sponsors walking down the isle. Yes, that is Senator Juan Ponce Enrile but he was not a Senator then but the Secretary of National Defense! Walking with him is my aunt Emiliana Laciste (who was representative of the other sponsor who was late hehe) she walked for Mrs. Rose Aquino and then Senator Leonardo B.Perez with Senator Magnolia W. Antonino. Bongga!
Of course the traditional photo op inside the church after the ceremony with the sponsors, the entourage and family

Moral of the story:
My parents unexpectedly got married because the forces of the universe conspired to get them together, this is what you call destiny. So,those who think they will never ever get married at all because they think they are too old, or because they are single parents or whatever reason tied with age or having a child out of wed-lock, think again. Fairy tales do come true, my parents story is a proof. Just let the course of the universe do what it needs to do and in God’s time the thing to happen to you will happen.
How about you do you believe in fairy tales? How was your parents wedding like? Care to share your story too?
