What I Wore That Day: Skater Fashion … Chos! The Converse Weatherized Collection Look Challenge (WIWTD #9)

When Converse Philippines invited me join their Chuck Taylor All Star Weatherized Collection Look Challenge I did not hesitate.  I love challenges as I love pushing my limit.  As much as I am not a sneakers kind of person ( It has been more than a decade when I worn my Red Chucks and then gave it away because sneakers was not just me.)  Another stumbling block I need to overcome with this challenge is that  I have super tiny feet, I have very limited choices when it comes to shoes style ,color and cut.    I dunno how I can pull it off and I dunno if I will be comfortable with it but as always challenge accepted.

Eenie meenie miny mo  … which of these lovely Converse Weatherized sneaker collection  should I go for?

When this 15 year old boy was cyber bullied by many for wearing his interpretation of “Skater Fashion” I felt bad for him and everyone else. Let me just emphasize that Fashion is what you buy, Style is how you wear it. If that’s how he wants to look when he skates then let him be. Fashion has no rules but there are trends and it is all up to you if you want to follow it or create your own look. Plus the fact that we all go through this awkward fashion moment we are just lucky social media was not a thing then, had it been I bet you’ll be super torn being ganged up by strangers because of what you wear.

Moving on… unintentionally, the look I came up with for the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Weatherized Collection Look Challenge turn out to be Skater Fashion… Chos! Well, at least I had baby skateboard and was riding the skates when my shots were taken haha.

I just saw the tiny skates at the display rack of Converse Philippines Flagship Store in Glorietta 2 Makati and I thought it would be a nice props for my shoot.

This sneakers is definitely the sneakers for those who want to experience life in all its textures and complexity, the perfect antidote to the safe and the expected!

I love how my look came out, I’m still me but a little unexpected.

Unexpected because if I come as my usual me, I’d wear ballet shoes or boots with this dress. Like this….boring and awkward and fugly

Compared to wearing the New Converse Collection

Definitely Shoes are boring, Wear Sneakers! Converse that is!
