I’m Joining the Conversations on Being Proud of Thy Age

Just for conversations sake.  If I was still 24 years old, I will be definitely be proud of my age.  Why not?  That’s the best age I think, not so young, not so old.  Still idealistic. Bold and feeling know-it-all I guess at that time.  But then if I was offered at that age to endorse an anti-aging product, I might accept for two reasons 1) I am young and want it all it’s an opportunity to be seen/exposed 2) If the pay is good why not.

But fast track to now, where I am a month and a week away from being 36.  If I see a 24 year old girl endorsing an anti-aging brand saying she’s proud of her age, I will have to raise my eyebrows and say  “Girl, you should definitely be proud of your age, you are just starting your journey to womanhood and being weathered and aged and needs anti-aging products”.

Well if I take the point-of- view of the brand manager, I will defend putting a 24 year old at that proud of my age campaign because as per dermatologist worldwide advises that the best time to start on anti-aging products is at the age of 24-25.    However  I  think it is not as convincing for seasoned women like me to see somebody fresh and at her 20’s to endorse a product targeted for 30 year old and up.

To say that she’s proud of her age and then put side by side an anti-aging product sends the wrong message.

Mid 30’s women will say screw you. Yes you are young, you should be.

As for me,myself, and I, I am 35 going 36 and I’m proud of my age.
