Have you heard of the place called Paraiso in Sariaya Quezon?

That Place Called Paraiso In Sariaya Quezon
I feel like singing,  this place called Paraiso and Dalampasigan in Sariaya Quezon is somewhere you want to be if you are planning an out-of-town beach trip to Sariaya, Quezon.

How to get there

We rented a van (Php4,000 drop-off and pick-up only ) to take us there, we met with the driver at exactly 530am. Our destination was Paraiso Beach Resort at Barangay Guis-Guis Sariaya.

Our driver took the new express way route to the south and we arrived at our destination after just 2 and a half hours, including a stop-over at a fast-food station for a quick breakfast.

I was not expecting much, I have never been to Sariaya, or have I heard people talk about the place that often. It was not a popular place for beach lovers it seems. Quezon is more popular for hikers and mountaineers as Mt. Banahaw was in full-view before getting to our beach resort. I was glad we went there to see an off-beaten path, or shall I say I less hyped beach resort in the Philippines that is equally good as the other popular beach destination in the country.

The entrance to Paraiso is gated and walled.  A staff of the resort will come to you and ask if you have reservations. On a weekend it is important to make a reservation, as the place is often book by local (Filipino) tourist / visitors every weekend and used as a venue to company team building and outings.

While the entrance is not that first class, in fact it looks like a cheap fly-by-night dusty check-in counters in the provinces. They have giant animal figurines and a wishing well by the entrance. Not so fancy, but kids will love it. They also have playground for kids.

Upon entering, you will pass by numbers of nipa hut cottages and picnic tables. Since it was a long weekend Holiday, the place was packed with overnighters who I think have been there a day earlier. Most of them are large groups of (I think its from companies and local government offices).

Accommodations
We rented an aircon cottage (Php 5,000) that is good to house 8 to 10 people. It has 4 beds, 2 beds at the loft and 2 beds at the ground floor. The loft only has electric fans only the ground level has an aircon. There’s one small bathroom to do your business and shower in privacy (the resort has big restrooms and shower areas for public use of those who rented the open cottages.)

Outside the rooms are dish washing , cooking and grilling area. So cooking is allowed here. There’s corkage fee for drinks Php150 per case for Beer, Php100 per case for Softdrinks and Php500 per case for imported alcoholic drinks.

You should bring your own hygiene kits (towel, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion) because they do not provide it.

When we arrived, those who got there first and occupying the open cottages were making loud noises, they are belting out loud in the Karaoke Machines found in every corner of the place. You can smell the stench of alcohol. It appears that these people have been drinking all night and singing all night. Ugh.

I thought it will be the worst beach stay I will have in my life, I was wrong.

By check-out time around noon, the noisy people left! Hooray! I also learned that singing is only allowed until 2 am and will resume at 8am, so you have ample time to get some sleep.

Activities to do in Paraiso:
Aside from singing your heart out at the Karaoke Machines, guest can do other water sports activities like Jet Ski (Php3,000 per hour), Banana Boat (Php 3,000 10 pax for 15 minutes or Php300 per head or Php1,500 for 5 pax for 15 minutes), Wake Boarding (Php3,000 for 30 minutes), Speedboat (Php3,000 for 30 minutes) and Flying fish (Php1,800 for 6 pax for 15 minutes).

At night, although some parts of the beach front is lighted, swimming in the beach is only allowed until 7pm. You can swim at the pool area which is open until 10pm.

Now I know why there’s Karaoke there’s nothing else to do at night here but drink and be merry by singing to your favorite tunes while having a good time with friends and relatives. Oh, bring a lot of Php5.00 coins. You need to drop Php5.00 coins to play your song.

Food
There is a restaurant in the resort that can cook your meals for you. Price depends on the dish you order an estimate of Php200.00 – Php350 per dish good for 3-4 people and Php10.00 per cup of rice. They can cook whatever dish you want them prepare and will buy all the ingredients for you, just give them the budget and they will cook it. I think this is a better option instead of bringing tons of food items (no fridge in the cottages) that might get spoiled. You don’t need to pack a lot, just your clothes and personal hygiene kits and enough money for your entire trip. There’s no ATM machine in the area, you have to go to the town proper to withdraw money if needed. Everything is by cash transactions only.

What made me fall in-love with the place?
The beachfront is huge. It was laced with grey sand. Coconut Trees line the beach front. The water is clear. And my favorite part, the longest Bamboo Bridge across the sea! It was beautiful.

Here’s the gorgeous photos I took of the beach! Eat your heart out!

I learned that the bridge was actually owned by the other beach resort, Dalampasigan Beach Resort, who just put up this Bamboo Bridge a few months ago when we arrived. It was put up to attract more visitors in Sariaya and their resort which is actually good. I am glad that they do not prohibit other resort guests to check out the bridge.

I experienced sunrise and sunset at Paraiso in Sariaya, Quezon both experience were equally wonderful. At sunrise, you can see fishermen coming back to shore after a night of fishing. At sunset you can see the beautiful golden sun and mesmerizing change and play of colors painting the sky. The best place to witness the sunset is by the Bamboo Bridge. It is so peaceful in there and the breeze was refreshing. It definitely feels like paradise!
