“The weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful and since we’ve got no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”
Ooops, in our case, it was raining, hard. But inspite of the heavy rains , we braced the weather and head to Lancaster New City in Cavite. We went there to witness how this budding family friendly community development by PRO-FRIENDS celebrate Christmas time and see new improvements in the community.
Calling myself a “Stormtrooper” that day with my stormtrooper inspired outfit, I did not mind walking in the middle of the rain as I admire the elaborate Christmas decorations bringing out the kid in me. No amount of rain stomped my festive mood.
Lancaster New City is one the most accesible development community that I have visited to date. It is 6.5 km away from the Kawit Toll Exit via Manila-Cavite Expressway . The property is about 1,400 hectares of barren land acquired by PRO-FRIENDS transforemed into affordable and beautiful homes and a family friendly community which allow residents to live, learn, work, play and pray. Our Pro-friends took us for a short tour at the property to see what the community has to offer.
Within the property, they have their own school for the residents children, the St. Edward Schools offers K-12 programs and its campuses are spread out across the New City. The St. Edward Integrated School and the St. Edward Fait Community School campuses are part of a school district that provides quality affordable education in close proximity to the residential areas. Cutting the time for fetching the kids to and from the school giving more time for studying, enjoying and living.
The barren land you see will become the Suntech iPark which will host BPO Locators which is expected to deliver 1,000 job opportunities to workers from within the community and close proximity. At the moment there are BPO offices at the 2nd level of the Square.
The Square has WELLCOME supermarket for the the residents and a number of dining options abound the commercial center. In fact we had dinner at one of their tenants , Stoops, which serves Ilocano dishes and their specialty Bagnet !
They also have an open park where residents can freely enjoy activities including Free Zumba Lessons at the activity center.
Personally, I fell inlove with their church, The Holy Family. They just had an installation of their own priest which means they can now have the seven sacraments (baptism, weddings, communinion etc.) celebrate in this church. The Holy Family Church is very modern and minimalistic with lots of windows and natural light coming in. It is very inviting and relaxing to church-goers.
This Holiday season, Lancaster New City holds Christmas Light Shows near the church proximity. This light show will go on until January 3, 2016. They also have Christmas Banchetto and Bazaar happening until December 27, 2016. Too bad it was a bedweather when we visited, so the lightshow was cancelled.
However, we were able to witness the first to “Santa’s Little Surprises” program of Lancaster New City. This is where Santa’s elves came to give away special gifts to homeowners.
To become a family friendly city is the main thrust of Lancaster New City a flagship project of PRO-FRIENDS. They have been in the property development industry for 17 years. Stay gorgeous everyone!
