It’s the busiest season of the year. All the party, all the shopping all the gathering. It is important to do outfit planning so you can survive the Christmas season.
Recently, I was at the Shangri-La Plaza fashion show showcasing the latest trends we all need in our closets for the Holidays. Top fashion labels at the Shang like Rustan’s Department Store, Adora, Joe Fresh, Debenhams, Old Navy, Porsche Design, Paul & Shark, British India, Stradivarius, Zara, Gap, Marks & Spencer, Arrow, K & Company, Daniel Hetcher, Anne Klein, Van Laack, Brooks Brothers, Mico Boutique, Styled and Park showcased their best holiday pieces at the style spectacle.
Looking at what they showcased I took down notes of the 5 trends you need in your closet for the Holidays:
Clashing Patterns: Take a cue from the myriad of cultural influences, and pair them up for contrast. Think Grecian blue and white mixed with Chinese porcelain details or Indonesian Ikat with Mexican prints.
What's Inside

Bold Prints: You can experiment with animal, geometric, abstract, cultural and floral prints and patterns. The key to pulling off these looks are complimentary colors.

Denims: A fail-safe piece in your wardrobe. Do tone on tone matching and silhouettes that are more relaxed than its skinny predecessor.

Neutral Color Scheme and Minimalist Boxy Cuts: These style staples are very “now”. Or you can go with pieces that are all about volume, rich fabrics, textures, weaves and details from lace, fringes to feathers!

Turn up the shine: Focus on glitter, sequins, beads, and metallics in light reflecting materials from leather to latex. Get all high glam with looks that reference maximalists fashion of the 80s but styled with modern flair.

Which fashion trend do you think you will follow this season?
Stay gorgeous everyone!
