Last weekend my daughter and I were able to see the first and only advanced screening of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie and it was a great movie to see as our back to cinema theaters again since the pandemic. It is a great family movie to see with your kids. It was rated PG 13 by the MTRCB.
I definitely enjoyed the movie, there were no dull moments and the scenes were fast. It was well written and had great CGIs. The storytelling was good and the punchlines landed really well.
My daughter who had autism and hardly finish a 3 minute Youtube music or show (because she would just repeat a scene over and over) was able to sit down and watch because of all the spectacle and the cute big-eyed wonder characters of Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails (although we had to go for a wiwi break twice I was expecting more or probably she doesn’t want to go back in but she did!).
I am glad I watched this with her. It was also a nice feeling to be able to see old familiar faces, the people I used to watch movies premiered with their families and loved ones, kinda like the old normal sorta is back.
My favorite character in this particular Sonic movie was the bride! Ooops sorry that was a sorta spoiler but you’d agree when you see the movie that’s all I have to say.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be showing in Philippine Cinemas and starting March 30, 2022 and in the U.S, on April 8, 2022.
Is it ok/safe to watch movies in theaters now?
So, to those who are asking, Cinemas are now 100% full capacity in the Philippines although I think there was one seat apart if you are not watching together. The wearing of a face mask is strictly enforced but you can bring your snack inside and remove your face mask when eating or drinking. You need to have your vaccination cards ready because upon entry at the cinema level you will be asked by the guards to show your cards.
The last movie I watched in the theater with Jowa was this, this was also our last his and her review since pandemic.
