Night Glow, Darth Vader, Fireworks At Finale Night of 16th Hot Air Balloon Festival

Yesterday was the last night of the 16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival at Clark Field Pampangga and of course I was there.  It was the perfect day to be there as it was the final night of this year and a weekend festival of everything that flies.

The finale night was the best night since its the night before Valentines Day, they wowed the spectators with an awesome night glow of the hot air balloons.  The ended with a lovely fireworks display!

Adding a romantic-touch to the event was one of the para-motor gliders who proposed marriage to his girlfriend! He took his gf for a tandem para-motor gliding and below was the banner asking for her hand.  Sweet!

We were just in time for the inflation of the hot air balloons.

There were more balloons this year, more people (estimate crowd of 5,000-10,000) more food and retail concessionaires ( that you needed the best weight loss supplement to flush it all out if you tried everything), more airplanes on the exhibit), new fun hot air balloon like the Mushroom with a View (biggest), Pirate, Snowman, inverted balloon and Darth Vader!

It was super cold in the morning until the sunrise, super hot in the afternoon then went to cold again sundown.

Incidentally it was the Centennial Celebration of the Air Force that day that’s why the last day of the 16th hot air balloon festival was extra special.
