Haters are gonna hate, that’s a sad truth. While there are non-believers or non-Catholic/Christians who has something nasty to say about the Pope Francis in the Philippines I am one of the 6 million people who feel blessed by the Pope Francis arrival in the country.
While some will say he is just a human and nothing else. I would say he is somehow a person who represents someone who can bind and unite people into coming back to faith in the goodness of men ergo the “Mercy and Compassion” for all human regardless of age,sex and religion.
Albeit my Pope Francis encounters were only composed of three (3) three thirty (30) seconder glimpse, it was all worth it all the long walks, soaking wet under the non-stop rain and halted bathroom breaks until everything was over!
More stories later for now sleeps for me (beauty rest).
Continuation…
Yesterday was the worst day to (weatherwise) to brace and see Pope Francis, the rain was non-stop, it was a cold day (relatively for Metro Manila weather) but that did not stop the million of Filipinos to get a glimpse of the highest leader of the Catholic Church and of Vatican City. I was a witness and was one of thos to prove that the Filipino spirit is indeed “waterproof”/”weatherproof”.
Because of the non-stop rain, even the Pope Francis have to wear a raincoat!
After he passed by, everyone was so happy and was jumping with joy. We even shared happiness with the strangers around us who all shook hands and embraced each other because we all feel blessed.
Do you have an actor/actress/singer you idolize? It is just like that that feeling when you finally see them. A glimpse of the person you look up to validates the reason you admire him/her. It is because of what he/she does and what he/she stands for . It humanizes him/her it gives you more reason to follow him/her and believe in what he/she does and stand for. That’s how it is basically.
And then there are those who went to see him because of the feeling of missing out (FOMO). Coz if you don’t see him you are not in. You have missed out. I don’t care what anybody thinks about that, on a personal note,I feel happy and blessed and there is more reason for me to be a blessing to everyone because of that. I am happy.
Stay gorgeous everyone!

Excerp from Pope Francis homily from Quirino Grandstand mass
Sometimes, when we see the troubles, difficulties and wrongs all around us, we are tempted to give up. It seems that the promises of the Gospel do not apply; they are unreal. But the Bible tells us that the great threat to God’s plan for us is, and always has been, the lie. The devil is the father of lies. Often he hides his snares behind the appearance of sophistication, the allure of being “modern”, “like everyone else”. He distracts us with the promise of ephemeral pleasures, superficial pastimes. And so we squander our God-given gifts by tinkering with gadgets; we squander our money on gambling and drink; we turn in on ourselves. We forget to remain focused on the things that really matter. . Sadly, in our day, the family all too often needs to be protected against insidious attacks and programs contrary to all that we hold true and sacred, all that is most beautiful and noble in our culture. In the Gospel, Jesus welcomes children, he embraces them and blesses them (Mk 10:16). We too need to protect, guide and encourage our young people, helping them to build a society worthy of their great spiritual and cultural heritage. Specifically, we need to see each child as a gift to be welcomed, cherished and protected. And we need to care for our young people, not allowing them to be robbed of hope and condemned to life on the streets.
