FOTD: Punk’s Not Dead MET Gala 2013 Inspired Look

It has been awhile since I posted a face of the day look. My last look I think was last March 2013 and for that I apologize. It’s just that I haven’t done anything new lately and when I do put on makeup I don’t have enough time to take decent pictures for an FOTD. But today I was inspired by the MET Gala 2013 and their Punk themed party. I was inspired by the 1980’s punk inspired look and it’s very edgy and fun and I like it.

The key for the MET Ball 2013 Punk:Chaos to Couture looks were the teased bouffants and charcoal-rimmed eyes. While burning red lips or nude lips were the favorite lipstick colors for the night.

Wearing Red Lipstick: Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani, Crsitina Ricci, Madonna, and Rose Huntington-Whitley

Wearing Nude Lipstick: Anne Hathaway, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Coco Rocha and Sarah Jessica Parker

So for my FOTD: Punk’s Not Dead MET Gala 2013 Inspired Look I created a look with the red and nude lips and kept the strong dark eyes and teased hair (one half-pony and the other a side swept pony)! Here are the two looks I created.

How I did it:

Eyes:
Using the Revlon PhotoReady Primer+Shadow+Sparkle, I applied the primer all over my lids, then the biggest one in the palette as my base color, the 2nd one from the top on my crease and the top color just below my eyebrows or the browbone.
Using the Eye of Horus Natural Smokey Eye Pencil, I lined my entire eyes close to my eyelashes (I lined the top and bottom lash areas) and smudge to soften it using the sponge end of the eye pencil.
I did not use mascara as the eyelash extension I had two weeks ago is still looking good.

Face:
I did not use foundation but instead use the Benefit Fake Up moisturizing concealer to cover dark-areas around my eyes and other dark spots.
I used the BYS Bronzing Powder as a blush instead of the regular blusher to create a stronger look.

Lips:
For the Nude Lips I used the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick Fuzzy Taupe all over my lips and then ad some Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick Coral Fantasy at the center of my lips and blend.
For the Red Lips I simply swiped the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick Viva Red on my lips and I’m good to go.

Hair:
I teased my hair using a comb and sprayed it on with the Prostyle Fuwarie End Curling Mist! When sprayed more than usual it also can act as a hair spray and keeps hair in place!

So, what do you think of my Punk’s Not Dead MET Gala 2013 Inspired makeup look?

Wanna try it?

Stay gorgeous everyone!
